Summary

The Colorist is responsible for color-grading video projects assigned by Lockt Producers. During the post-production process, they will partner with the editorial and creative teams to set and apply color looks, create LUTs, color-correct, and maintain consistency across all scenes for various content, ranging from commercials and short-form content to feature-length films. Projects will be specific to Stept or Lockt only, and the Colorist will not be booked for any other work or direct sessions outside of company projects.

Role/Responsibilities

- Partner with the Creative team to provide creative insights during project ideation and campaign development to achieve the desired color palette, tone, and mood that aligns with the project’s vision.

- Utilize industry-standard color correction software (i.e. DaVinci Resolve, Adobe Premiere) to deliver upon the creative vision; taking opportunities to exemplify craft and elevate the final work through Color.

- Organize, manage, and archive project files effectively, ensuring that projects are delivered on time and meet technical specifications.

- Assist in color prep or conform if necessary based on assistant editor bandwidth.

- Assist the Media Manager in file organization and project close-outs when time allows.

- Work with the Post Supervisor, Post Producers, Clients, Directors, and/or DPs to complete color in an efficient and collaborative manner.

- Research and integrate new technical and/or efficient workflows to help expedite the color-grading process while maintaining a high level of quality

Requirements

What you bring:

- 4+ years of experience working in a color-grading professional environment on a variety of content and large-scale productions (i.e., commercials, digital content, documentaries, feature films, etc.).

- Extensive knowledge of DaVinci Resolve, color theory, lighting, and cinematography in the production and post-production world.

- Experience working in a collaborative environment, especially with directors and cinematographers. Strong interpersonal abilities, quickly read people, and work with different personalities.

- Proven ability to build and maintain trusted and long-term working relationships.

- Attention to detail with a keen eye for color and visual storytelling.

- Ability to work under tight deadlines while maintaining high quality, creativity, and attitude.
