Role/Responsibilities

Stept Studios is seeking a Jr. Media + IT Manager to support the technical backbone of our post-production, production and creative operations. This hybrid role owns media management throughout the project lifecycle — from ingest and organization through final delivery and archival — while also handling day-to-day IT administration across our platforms, hardware, and infrastructure. It's an ideal opportunity for someone who's organized, technically curious and excited to grow in a creative environment.

Requirements

Media Management

Ingest & Setup

Manage drive in/out and raw footage upload

Transcode raw footage

Ingest and organize client-provided media

Set up projects on Suite and server

Enforce project file naming conventions and folder structure standards

Project Coordination

Manage project organization on the server throughout the project lifecycle

Coordinate with producers, editors, and artists to gather and distribute data needed to complete projects

Prepare and coordinate production drives

Coordinate hard drive handoff and dropoff for Stept productions

Delivery & Archival

Build client-facing drives

Upload finished work to client and vendor portals

Create delivery folders on Box

Ship drives to clients and vendors

Upload and share work via WireDrive and Vimeo

Notify Stept/Lockt reps of newly delivered work

Maintain working knowledge of ongoing and past projects

Manage Louper data project lifecycle

Execute final work archival workflows, offloading projects to RAID and LTO

Company-Wide IT Administration

Platform & User Administration

Administer all platforms (Google, Slack, Adobe, Suite, etc.)

Add/remove users and ensure data continuity

Maintain software and service subscriptions and track licenses

Provision and deprovision vendor and freelancer access on a per-project basis

Software & Hardware Management

Manage software updates and report update timing to the team to avoid disrupting active project files (e.g., Premiere)

Maintain hardware catalog and manage hardware requests

Creating Louper live session rooms

Onboarding remote editors to Suite and Jump Desktop

Troubleshoot hardware and software issues, including Louper live sessions, be on-call for producers and Jump Desktop

Infrastructure

Manage internet access, workstations, and related infrastructure

Provision and maintain virtual machines

Overall

Maintain process documentation

Manage communications with 3rd party IT support vendors when you aren’t able to troubleshoot or complete tasks yourself. 

QUALIFICATIONS

2-4 years of experience in media management, DIT, post-production coordination, or IT support (post/production house experience strongly preferred)

Working knowledge of file-based workflows, including transcoding, media ingest, and folder/naming conventions

Familiarity with common post-production platforms and tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Avid, Frame.io, WireDrive, Vimeo, Box)

Comfort working across Google Workspace, Slack, and similar business platforms

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, especially around file structure and naming conventions

Ability to coordinate with multiple stakeholders (producers, editors, artists, vendors) and manage competing priorities

Comfortable being on-call for time-sensitive troubleshooting (e.g., live sessions, active edit support)

Clear written and verbal communication skills for documentation and cross-team coordination

Curiosity and hands-on comfort with emerging AI tools and workflows — from lightweight "vibe coding" and prompt-based automation to platforms like Cowork — and a genuine interest in applying them to streamline media and IT operations

A proactive, self-starter mindset with willingness to learn new tools and systems as the company's stack evolves

Preferred, not required:

Basic IT administration experience — user provisioning/deprovisioning, software licensing, hardware troubleshooting

Experience with virtual machine provisioning/maintenance

Understanding of storage and archival systems (RAID, LTO, or similar)
